LONDON TERRACE

Top of the Block

SQUARE FEET: 1500
LOCATION: NEW YORK, NY

When London Terrace went up in 1930, its developer claimed it to be the biggest apartment complex in the world with 4,110 rooms carved into 1,670 units among 14 buildings occupying a full city block between Ninth and Tenth Avenues and 23rd and 24th Streets. This series of connected apartment buildings based around a central garden was built in 1930-34. This penthouse situated on the 17th floor corner has full views north, south, east and west. Planning was tight for the 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit with a primary challenge to open it up for a loft-like feeling. Custom cabinetry manufactured in Italy, custom book matched marble slab fireplace, bathroom and kitchen provide natural beauty set against a white backdrop of the open loft.
